The Witch Gathering on Sleeberg
On the Sleeberg in Lauw, near Borgloon, witches held secret gatherings. Dance circles were left in the grass.
1 The Dance on Sleeberg
A man walking home saw witches dancing. He was drawn into the circle. After the dance they drank wine from a golden chalice.
2 The Divine Intervention
The man cried: “God be praised!” All the witches vanished suddenly and he stood alone with the golden chalice in his hand.
3 The Hidden Truth
On the chalice was inscribed the name of a lady from Hasselt. He found her – she was terrified and paid him three suits to keep quiet.
